Whilst Adobe Photoshop is unquestionably the industry standard image manipulation software package for professionals, Photoshop Elements has many of the same tools and features but is available for just a fraction of the price. Although it has a more user-friendly interface than the full version and is designed mainly for retouching digital photographs, Photoshop Elements still has enough features to enable you to create images from scratch. It is frequently voted the best consumer level digital imaging software available.

Despite the software being user-friendly, knowing the best command or tool to use in a given photo editing situation only comes with time and experience. A training course delivered by somebody who has already gained that experience can provide an instant step-up the learning curve, allowing the user to concentrate on improving their images rather than spending time learning the software.
